The Keepsake House

A gifting store that starts with the person, not the product

E-commerce websiteInformation architectureUI design

Personalised gifting stores usually look like catalogues: hundreds of mugs and frames, sorted by product type. But nobody shops for ‘a frame’. They shop for their partner, their parents or a new home.

I designed and built the store around people and moments. The navigation, the hero and the first sections all start with who the gift is for, and the personalisation step is explained and previewed before anyone pays.

The store feels warm and considered, closer to a boutique than a marketplace, which supports higher order values like hampers and corporate gifting.

The Keepsake House hero: ‘A gift only you could have chosen’ beside hands opening a gift box.
Occasion ticker and ‘Begin with the person you know best’ above family photographs.
Shopping starts with the relationship, which is how people actually think about gifts.
Shop-by-person tiles for your partner, their new home and your people, above ‘The good gift shelf’.
Product grid of personalised magnets, frames, pendants and lamps with prices.
A product grid with real hierarchy: category, name and price, nothing else competing.
‘Personal, without overdoing it’ on a deep brown band beside a woman holding a print.
Three steps: choose the piece, share what is yours, see it before it is made.
Personalisation is a risk to buy online. Three steps and a preview remove it.
Build-a-box section with a checklist of items and a running total on mustard yellow.
The box builder turns a bigger order into a simple checklist.
‘The wrapping goes. The feeling stays.’ over a family looking through a photo album.
‘Business gifting that still feels personal’ on sage and sky blue beside a gift box.
Corporate gifting gets its own colour story.
Closing newsletter band ‘Good gifts begin with noticing’ in deep plum with the footer.

The decisions that made it work

01

Shop by person

‘Your partner, their new home, your people’ comes before any product category.

02

Preview before it is made

The biggest fear in personalised gifting is a bad print. The page promises a preview and says it three times.

03

A hamper builder

Choosing items from a checklist with a running total makes a larger order feel easy.
