Orno

I built a learning interface where prerequisites are visible as a graph and the AI mentor stays scoped to the concept being studied.

Frontend developmentInterface design in codeFull-stack AI product

A linear syllabus can show the next lesson, but it cannot explain which missing prerequisite is blocking the learner.

Orno models lessons as connected concepts. The interface had to make those dependencies readable without asking an author to position every node manually, and the AI mentor needed to stay grounded in the concept currently open.

The story is on the left. The decisions behind it are below.

The decisions that made it work

01

Dependencies as edges

Every lesson is a node and every prerequisite is an edge, laid out automatically with Dagre so nobody hand-positions a curriculum.

02

A mentor anchored to the node

The AI knows which concept you are standing on, so its answers stay scoped instead of drifting into general tutoring.
